HANGZHOU, China /September 05 According to the September 2017 issue of Forbes Asia, this year’s Asia’s Fab 50 list is out. Dahua Technology, a leading solution provider in the global video surveillance industry, made it into the top 50 of this exciting list.

The Forbes 13th annual Fab 50 list of the best big publicly traded companies honors corporate stars throughout the Asia-Pacific region. This year, China is grabbing most of the spotlight, with 29 of the 50 companies headquartered on the mainland, represented by the two most valuable companies on the list: Alibaba and Tencent Holdings. Dahua is one of eleven Chinese new comers to the Fab 50, reflecting the country's deep pool of entrepreneurial talent.
Forbes Asia’s Fab 50 2017

It is a gigantic competition among 1694 publicly traded companies that have at least US$1.8 billion in annual revenue. The companies that are losing money or whose revenue is less than it was five years ago are knocked off the list, together with those that are carrying a high debt ratio, and those that have more than 50% state or listed parent ownership.

The final results were tallied made after Forbes ran a battery of more than a dozen financial measures among the remaining contenders. The goal is to highlight entrepreneurial outfits, not those living off of government connections, thus to produce a stellar lineup of high-performing blue chips - the region's best of the best.

According to the Dahua 2016 Financial Report, Dahua accomplished a yearly gross revenue of US$1.93 Billion, representing a YOY growth of 32.26%. Since its IPO in the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2008, Dahua has attained continuous growth throughout the years. Its 2017 H1 Financial Report shows that it has achieved a YOY growth of 50.81% in terms of gross revenue in the reporting period.

3 Reasons Why Dahua Made the 2017 Forbes Asia’s Fab 50

1. Innovative Technology

Since 2014 Dahua has invested about 10% of its annual sales revenue into R&D, 10.67% in 2017 H1 according to the Dahua 2017 H1 Financial Report. The company has four research institutes – Advanced Technology Institute, Big Data Institute, Chip Institute and Video Cloud Institute -- and more than 5,000 R&D engineers and technical staff working on cutting-edge technologies. In 2017 alone, Dahua has released numerous new products and solutions such as the HDCVI-4K product line, ePoE systems, Seaport Solution, and Smart City Solutions.
Dahua attaches great importance to cooperation with well-known companies and institutes. By the end of 2016, Dahua announced cooperation with DELL in building smart security systems. In 2017, Dahua cooperated with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications on a new joint intelligent video lab. It also worked with NVIDIA to promote video+ with "Deep Sense" smart video structure server. In addition, Dahua and Intel announced the joint release of a new industrial camera, setting the blueprint for the machine vision industry.
According to Dahua 2016 Financial Report, in 2016, Dahua has finished the overall transformation of its diversified front-end products into smart devices, as well as the improvement of a multi-dimensional sensing system. Now it is focusing on upgrading customized industry solutions.

2. Reliable Quality

Quality has always been Dahua’s focus point. A national lean six sigma award in 2015, Hangzhou Best QC Organization as well as Asia Quality Innovation Excellent Project in 2016 are just a few examples of Dahua’s commitment to quality. In June 2017, Dahua partnered with Synopsys (Nasdaq: SNPS) to enhance the security of its Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Later this year, the Dahua Intelligent (IoT) Industrial Park will be opened in Hangzhou’s Fuyang District. It is estimated that by the end of 2017, many more Dahua service stations will be opened all around the world, providing localized after-sales technical support to its local customers and partners.

3. End-to-end Service

Dahua has realized that to provide increasingly better service to its customers and partners, localization is a must. In addition to the establishment of service stations which mainly provide after-sales services, more and more subsidiaries and international academies have been opened in different regions of the world. In 2017 alone, Dahua opened subsidiaries in Russia, India, and Bulgaria. Two Dahua International Academy training sessions were held in Poland and Iberia, attracting extensive attention from Dahua customers and partners worldwide. Dahua has also been cooperating with world-renowned third party software platforms such as Milestone, Genetec, Axxon, and Angelcam to extend the application scope of its products and solutions, giving its customers more utilization opportunities.

It might be worth mentioning that Dahua is the only video surveillance company that has been listed in the 2017 Fab 50. Just as the list’s goal is to highlight entrepreneurial outfits and produce a stellar lineup of high-performing blue chips, Dahua, with a mission of “Enabling a safer society and smarter living”, will continue to focus on “Innovation, Quality, and Service” to serve partners and customers around the world.
