2023-10-2545

October 25, 2023 / Shenzhen, China. Dahua Technology, a world-leading video-centric AIoT solution and service provider, unveiled its Think#2.0 corporate strategy, “Xinghan” Foundation Model and Future Communication Research Institute at the company’s 2023 summit in Shenzhen. The event gathered over 300 industry experts and partners to engage in profound discussions regarding emerging trends and new industrial models driven by digital intelligence.

In recent years, with the evolution of advanced technologies and changing customer demands, the AIoT industry has extended beyond its traditional focus on public safety. Various industries now rely on digital means to enhance production efficiency and operational management, becoming new drivers of business growth. The surge in digital demand places higher demands on the technological innovation and business implementation capabilities of AIoT companies.

Mr. Fu Liquan, Chairman and President of Dahua Technology, reviewed Dahua’s 30-year milestones of steady development and continuous innovation at the event. He stated that as the application of foundation models, multimodal technology and other technologies continues to accelerate the integration of digital technology and the real economy, it further expands the potential of the industry. Founded on the company’s “Five Full” capabilities including Full Sensing, Full Intelligence, Full connection, Full Computing, and Full Ecosystem, Dahua is well-positioned to embrace the opportunities brought about by emerging technology trends. The company also actively engages in ESG, and collaborates with partners across various domains, contributing to a safe, low-carbon, beautiful and harmonious world.

In his keynote speech, Mr. Jason Zhao, Executive President of Dahua Technology, provided insights into the evolution and upgrading of Dahua’s corporate strategy. He emphasized that, under the Dahua Think# strategy, the company has been focusing on facilitating the digital-intelligent transformation of cities and enterprises in the past two years. Driven by technological innovation and business cultivation, Dahua has accumulated a wealth of in-depth industry insights, experience and capabilities. As AIoT evolves, the global AIoT market space is further expanding, accelerating data productivity and intelligence integration. However, there are still extensive demands for customization, fragmentation, complexity, and integration, making the implementation of existing technology and accumulated capabilities relatively difficult and slow. The application of new technologies such as foundation models and multimodal allows AI algorithms to move from individuality to universality, from accuracy to precision, from static to dynamic, from cognition to comprehension. It greatly reduces the cycle and cost of developing massive application scenarios and further drives the development of the digital economy.

Facing the vast digital intelligence world, Mr. Zhao highlighted that Dahua is set to join hands with ecosystem partners and embark on the Think# 2.0 era from "Intelligence" to "Integrated Intelligence", comprehensively integrating multimodal technology, industry foundation models, image and data intelligence, and integrated connection to stimulate new industrial momentum. This strategy will reinforce intelligent integration and connection, unlock the value of video-centric data, establish more efficient urban governance systems and empower enterprises with comprehensive value realization in digital transformation. Meanwhile, Dahua is committed to cultivating a highly open and integrated ecosystem in collaboration with partners for the development of the digital economy, fostering joint contribution, win-win cooperation and shared benefits.

In terms of data value, Mr. Zhou Wenkai, General Manager of Software Platform R&D, stressed that Dahua has long been deeply involved in the video-centric data market. The IoT Digital Intelligence Platform 2.0, which is based on the Dahua Think# strategy iteration, integrates new technologies such as IoT sensing, computing and network integration, visual foundation models, and data intelligence to comprehensively enhance Dahua’s software engineering capabilities. It leverages the multiplier effect of data to strengthen urban management and assist in the digitalization of enterprises. According to Mr. Zhou, Dahua is committed to the video-centric data industry chain, managing data as resources, products and assets, and jointly working with ecosystem partners to further release the value of data through solution co-construction, product co-creation, and capabilities sharing.

AI is an important tool and technical means to meet the industry's intelligence needs. At the summit, Dahua's "Xinghan" Foundation Model was launched. Mr. Yin Jun, President of Dahua Advanced Technology Research Institute, stated that Dahua has been exploring the development of AI technology for a long time. With visual analysis as the core, Dahua has built a "1+2" AI capability system and improved algorithm supply capacity through a 4-layer creative AI framework to accelerate the use of AI across products, scenes, and over 8,000 segmented scenarios, laying the foundation for the development and implementation of the foundation model. Dahua’s “Xinghan” Foundation Model is a video-centric multi-modal fusion industry foundation model that brings a leap in the accuracy and generalization of AI algorithms, with breakthroughs in visual cognition capabilities, independent analysis of all scenes, and efficient fulfillment of massive fragmented needs, such as urban governance and power industry applications. Dahua's rich AIoT-related experience in the industry and segmented scenario businesses help to quickly realize the commercialization of foundation models, accelerate cross-industry applications, and build a deeper new digital industrial ecosystem.

In the Dahua Think# 2.0 strategic framework, the importance of video-centric data communication and connection in the convergence of "cloud, network, edge, and terminal" is emphasized. To address this, Dahua established the Future Communication Research Institute, which is dedicated to conducting foundational research in the intelligent connection of video data, thus enhancing the company’s "Full Connection" capability. Mr. Deng Zhiji, President of Dahua Technology Central Research Institute and the Future Communication Research Institute, stated that with the continuous development of visual intelligence applications and the emergence of new technologies such as foundation models and computational networks, traditional connection-oriented network systems are no longer sufficient to meet the higher demands of the new generation of video-centric applications in terms of data controllability and reliability. There is an urgent need to build a new generation of intelligent connection systems. In line with the future development of networks, data, business, and networks will undergo deep and multi-variant integration upgrades. Dahua has established a brand-new "3+N" connection capability foundation to provide effective support for the streamlined management of digital systems and the autonomous operation of intelligent systems, promoting comprehensive smart upgrading in the new era.

The year 2023 marks Dahua's dedication to open and inclusive ecosystem partnerships, which was frequently mentioned at the summit. Dahua partner representatives from domestic and overseas shared with attendees the new efforts and breakthroughs in digital technology under the fields of production, operation and education, as well as the applications of their digital experiences in the global market. Mr. Namik Kemal Yildiz, Turkish Ministry of Education Manager of People's Education, Ministry of Education of Türkiye, presented the FATİH Project of the Turkish Ministry of Education in collaboration with Dahua. He stated that the FATİH Project is a significant part of Turkey's 2030 vision, aiming to achieve the digital transformation of K12 education. Mr. Namik introduced the background, scope, and achievements of the FATİH Project. Dahua has been deeply involved in the smart education industry for years, and has been committed to providing industry-leading one-stop solutions for education informatization. The company has collaborated with the Turkish Ministry of Education on building smart examination rooms and smart classrooms and plans to further expand multidimensional cooperation in the education industry to support the digitization of education in Turkey.

In the future, Dahua will continue to focus on visual intelligence, further develop the foundation of its "Five Full" capabilities, and accelerate the data industry through comprehensive AIoT, IoT sensing, integrated connection, and other capabilities. This will expedite the strengthening of urban and corporate digital transformation with new technologies and models. Together with partners, Dahua will jointly create an open and empowering ecosystem, comprehensively promote the development of the digital economy, and explore new chapters in global development.
